About Oxwillow
Named after the ancient Oxwillow Loade that appears
on pre-drainage maps and still meanders through our land,
our heritage is firmly rooted in everything we do.
From the past… to the present
The Taylor family can trace its roots back to the Ely fens over hundreds of years, and long before the area was drained. From wildfowling and caring for the banks of the New Bedford river to basket making or farming the black soils, our family has a long history of being Fen folk and farmers, passing on centuries of expertise.
As the Fens have evolved so has our family’s role
within them and we will use this knowledge of the past
to help shape the Fens of the future.
From the past… to the present
Oxwillow is driven by the ethos of ‘Do well’ – for farming, for nature and for climate. We aim to forge a resilient and sustainable agri-food supply chain whilst driving growth in the food and farming sector; integrating biodiversity, natural capital and carbon accounting, alongside practical future-proofed agricultural systems.
Sarah-Jane Taylor
Co-Founder & BNG Lead
Sarah grew up in a fen edge village and studied animal care with a keen interest in conservation at the College of West Anglia, where she met Craig. Marrying into a farming family grew Sarah's knowledge and passion for the sector beyond what she ever could have imagined and now she uses this combined with her love of nature to find solutions and build sustainable systems for the future. She leads on Oxwillow's Biodiversity Net Gain and Carbon offering whilst working with other key stakeholders in the landscape to scale nature recovery. In her spare time Sarah enjoys foraging, baking and being outdoors with her family and flock of misbehaving sheep.
